Definitely doable but I did not like cruising with 26" tall tires and 3:55's.  Way too much rpm for me, the car was fine, but I needed a lower note to listen to.  My car is also a bit loud.  

Myk you can put hundreds on your car in a day without going too far, just drive around a lot, that's how I learned of my car's strengths and weaknesses.  If something does happen then at least your still fairly close to home.

I made it to HAN's this year from N.E. Washington State.  It was a two day trip.  I trailered mine, but followed a friend in his '69.  I was very comfortable in my air conditioned truck, while said friend was dying in the 100 degree heat.  He also broke down in Winnemucca, Nevada due to a fuel pump problem.  I'll stick with the trailer when going more than a couple of hundred miles......

Yes that is a bit of a haul.  My dad lives up in the Idaho panhandle and i have made that trip a few times.
Did you have your car on display at any of the major spots?  I might have seen it.

Not really.  Did a lot of cruising to the different hotels, BJ auction, swap meet, car corral and such.  Also drove up to the lake to see an old friend.  I did run into quite a few rude drivers though.  I don't know if they were fed up with the influx of hot ros in their town or just normal for the area now.....

Funny i never considered the drivers here rude, just bad!  But this area has grown a bunch in the last  20 years. More traffic for sure.

The wife and I spent most of our time at Atlantis and the Grand Sierra. I was impressed seeing the Daytona and the one owner Hemi Superbird.

I was parked at the Atlantis for couple of hours on Friday.  My memories of Reno go back to the early '60's.  Virginia Street was about it back then.....

I have 28 inch tall tires and 3:23's in this car but the last one had 4:10's and I didn't drive it any less.  Maybe a little slower on the freeway but I still took it on some long trips.  The ones before were all 3:23, 3:55, 3:91 or 4:10 and they all made it.  I like driving them. 

True.  With a 26.5 inch tire and 2.76's it's not a bother to drive either; I just need to pick one of these grand shows everyone keeps talking about and just GO THERE...

Absolutely Myk, can't do it when you're too old. I don't know what my tyre size in inches is, they are 295/50/15's though. The rear is 3:23 and auto.
I did a 1320 mile trip last year , it cost $900 for gas and nothing broke. Fantastic drive too, no a/c, hot as can be with the windows down and the vent open funnelling more warm air in and the 440 for a soundtrack but having a lot more fun than the robots driving their generic boxes in the other lanes
