I went to another car show earlier today about an hour from my house. I never see any mopars! All I see are camaros, chevelles, and corvettes. Believe you me, I love the way those cars look, but I'm tired of seeing nothing but Chevy and mustang coupes. Is this how it is everywhere? When I say no mopars, I mean none. Zero. I have been to one in my hometown in SW Arkansas where a buddy of mine brought his GL replica. Other than that, a mopar of any kind is a rare sight. Where do I have to go so I can see some chargers, challengers, super bees, etc?? Or is it like this everywhere?

See anybody and everybody can own a Chevy or a Mustang, back in the day Chevy parts in salvage yards were a dime a dozen, MOPAR parts where cheap and strong.  All my buddies drove GM and Ford products but they jumped in my Charger when it came time to cruise the circuit , and a different breed of person owns and drive MOPARS. Look back in the old rags of the 70's though 90's, STREET RACER, STREET MACHINE, SUPER STOCK & DRAG ILLUSTRATED (mostly black and white photos ) to name a few, oodles of GM's and Ford's on every page, a MOPAR or two in each month. The big advertisers even had something other then a MOPAR selling there products. The visual was there and the readers gravitated to those other cars. Next time you walk in to your local Speed Shop, Muffler Shop, used Tire Shop etc., look up on the walls and see who's cars are the most represented . You pretty much have to walk in to a MOPAR spoken here shop to see pictures of the elusive MOPAR's. Maybe the reason there are not so many pictures of MOPARs in those old magazines could be that MOPARs were to fast to photograph, you needed a special camera . An occasional MOPAR only mag. would be floating around at the news stands. When I found a MOPAR in a mag. I would defiantly read it. There were no less then seven MOPARs in my neighborhood (1970's & 1980's) being tweaked on any given night or day and somewhere around nine GM's lurking in the garages around me, these were common street and strip racers, not counting the full time big boys.
I wonder where there are today? What's funny to me is that MOPAR COLLECTOR'S GUIDE circa 1996 had an address on El Camino Ave.
I went to Carlisle Chrysler Nationals this year, WOW three days for me of MOPARs, if there is anything bigger my brain and eyes would be overloaded and pop.
The smaller shows are very good for a day thing, we need more of these shows. Maybe the MOPAR people do not want to run there cars to the small shows (wear and tear) or do not know about the shows? I can't wait to get my high school sweetheart back on the road.

I went to a cruise in Waukesha, WI 4 days ago and I was one of THREE 69' Chargers there, including a sweet black R/T with 4 speed. The planets must have been aligned, because this never happens, especially in WI.

we have a car show every second Saturday of the month in the summer time. out of 50 cars 4 might be mopars.

Same right from when they were new.  Hundreds of thousands of 69 Camaros built, nearly a million 65 Mustangs, half a million Impalas and so on.

I am usually the only Mopar, and definitely the only charger at any cruise or show I go to. Here in San Diego, it's all '32 Fords, Shelby Cobra replicas, Mustangs and Camaros.  This is why my car will get the stares and the attention no matter how much nicer the other cars are; we're a rare breed and it shows...

Here in Reno we have Hot August Nights. It is not acutally one car show , but for a week the whole area is full of clasic cars. I think they have over 6000 registered cars, and more than that are actually here.  Cars are parked and show at many of the big casinos.  Cars range from Model A to mid 1970's.  In the same very large parking lot i got to see a 1 owner Hemi Superbird, Daytona, and a Shelby Cobra!  Mopars are represented very well here, but out numbered as always.
I Know its not practical for some people who live a long distance to come here for this. But shuold be on your bucket list if your a car guy.

Many cars are actually towed here or transported inside  those big inclosed trailers!

I rarely see much Mopar at local shows here either.  I've regulated myself to mostly attending the Mopar club shows.  Saw 25 Chargers yesterday at Sunbust in Graham Washington!

Well last year I spent three months in 'Vegas for new-job training.  My original, crazy plan was to drive the Charger there and eventually take it out on the strip (how f**king cool would that have been?), but the estimated gas cost alone was waaaaay out of my budget as I had already been out of work for a bit.  It's only 330 or so miles, but that's just one way.  I don't know, for me HAN is a bucket list sort of thing.  Oh I'd ALSO like to attend HIN, wouldn't it be also cool to show up there in the Charger and show them what a real car is all about...

Cost of gas usually kills it for me as well.  In the future I'll get decent mileage out of it but with the near stock setup I'm lucky to get anything over 10 mpg so long road trips get expensive fast.

If I ever make it to Carlisle I'll drive the Charger there, it's only about 500 miles and I've done worse with this car in one day, I trust it to behave.

Wow really?  Then I need to step it up; 600 miles shouldn't be a problem for me.  Then again, it's probably an issue with the driver not the car lol...

It makes for a cleanup session but I've put a full day of highway on mine too Myk.

The more you drive it, the better it runs.  Highway rides are easy on the car as well but don't forget I have tall tires and 2.96 gears which makes for very nice cruising.

I drive mine at least twice a week, especially now with the cruises and shows in full swing, but even with all of that the car still doesn't get more than 100 miles in a day.  I just don't tend to go out very far...

I have 28 inch tall tires and 3:23's in this car but the last one had 4:10's and I didn't drive it any less.  Maybe a little slower on the freeway but I still took it on some long trips.  The ones before were all 3:23, 3:55, 3:91 or 4:10 and they all made it.  I like driving them.

True.  With a 26.5 inch tire and 2.76's it's not a bother to drive either; I just need to pick one of these grand shows everyone keeps talking about and just GO THERE...
