Since there is no vin on the block it was probably a factory warranty block. The engine might have been replaced under warranty. The dealership was supposed to stamp the vin on the block but looks like they did not do that.

It is a stretch of luck but Galen Govier at GTS acquired many years ago copies of builds sheets from Chrysler.  He may or may not have a copy and all you have to give him is your VIN.  I know this because I had another car that was missing the build sheet only and I called them to see if they could reproduce one.  Without out those two things you have to puzzle up what you currently have to work with.
The engine could be a warranty replacement block.  The 70 K frame on a 69 opens too many questions.  Does the VIN match the partial vins on the radiator support and the trunk lip?
In any event looks like good bones to build a nice ride and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the great info, yes the car seems to be very solid but all the parts seem to be a collection of odd parts or missing parts. If the engine has been replaced under warranty should it have a new vin or the original vin and should I have it stamped or leave it alone (don't think I can register here in Australia without one).
With the car missing so many of the original parts I was not planning to return the car to factory spec. I would like to keep the original engine, trans, diff and stock interior but I have all the US CAR TOOL stiffening kit and have the Hotchkis suspension on the way and will run 17'' wheels and 4 wheel disc brakes. I would like to hear opinions or suggestions from people who have any experience advice or tips with these products. Thanks.

Like I said the dealership that replaced it should have stamped it. Not sure if it is legal to stamp it, but also not sure if you could even find the stamps in the same font that factory used. It would have been stamped with the cars original VIN

Gidday  Wakey, looks like your starting with good benchmark.
A mate of mine here has a SE R/T in sassy green, it also has the sway bar through K frame and a few other oddball things including a/c and 8 track.

Good effort pulling it to pieces so soon, label it all though bud - it going to be a long time before its back together by the looks. So much knowledge and info on Chargers here, you're at the right place.

Cheers

Were they able to produce you a build sheet? If so how much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking.

Thanks

Thanks everyone, Been learning a lot off the forum but still have a few questions for you all. I have removed the engine, tranny, diff and suspension from the car and put it on casters to move it around. So here are the questions,
1. It looks like the engine has no vin stamped on it, could this be the original engine like I was told?
2. Is the k frame off a 70 and if so will it be any good in the 69?(will it work with the Hotchkis suspension I have ordered?)
3.Was the vin stamped on the tranny anywhere?

Thanks for all your help.

full or part vin will be stamped here
