Hi guys I just added these to the hood tonight. Think it made a hell of a nicer look . Dose anyone know if them came that way when they were new? and were they painted on.

1969 Charger  Orange /black top  (1989) 360 engine stock with added xtreme comp cam and a 4 bbl  , 904 trans/shift kit , 8-1/4 rear.. with general lee accents.

They make a great looking addition but I have to say, I've never seen a '68 or '69 without hood turn signals. I am adding them to my car in the form of decals. Not sure what the factory did...

The Charger's came with factory decals, not paint. You could get both 68's and 69's with turn signal deletes.

I won't tell...  :whistling:

Yes, decals. They look great!
If there were no turn signals the block-off plates were painted black to match.

I've seen the turn signal lenses both with & without the black paint on the surface of the lens. Pretty sure the lens with the black paint is correct.  :scratchchin:

That's how I did my car, installed the decals, painted turn deletes to match....

me and the buddy of mine who is responsible for my 69's restoration decided if we had it to do over, we would have cut those out and made the a functional vent

Ghoste

It is correct that the signal lens be blacked out.

I've often wondered about that, but was always too chicken to start cutting up my hood.  It sure would be nice to get some added airflow and have a way for some heat to escape the engine bay.
