From GM Insider:

Chevrolet's SS Sedan will be gaining a much requested manual transmission and magnetic suspension for the 2015 model year. The new options have long been rumored as additions for the 2015 model, though were finally validated today thanks to GM's online order guide. According to the guide the 2015 SS will offer the Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission as an option with a new 3.70 rear axle, while GM's Magnetic Ride Control suspension will now be standard.

The SS Sedan, essentially a Holden Commodore SS-V from Australia, launched last year as Chevrolet's niche performance sedan. Despite the V-8 power and great handling, this performance entry lacked a major prerequisite: a manual gearbox. Even though the car's Holden counterpart has offered a six-speed manual since day one, and the deceased Pontiac G8 GXP also offered it, Chevrolet omitted it originally. The reason of which has always remained a mystery.

At any rate, their wrong will be righted for 2015 model-year. Combined with Magnetic Ride Control, the SS with a manual gearbox should be quite the performance sedan for the North American market. Magnetic Ride Control suspension reads the road several times a second to adapt the suspension best to the road surface. The system is currently found on most Cadillac models, Corvette Stingray and GM's full-size SUV's.

The SS Sedan is powered by GM's LS3 6.2-liter V-8 with 415 horsepower and 415 foot-pounds of torque. No other engine is offered in the car, and according to GM, the six-speed automatic will remain available for the 2015 model as well.

In addition to the new transmission and suspension, Chevrolet is also bringing over some of Holden's vibrant exterior colors, including the likes of "Regal Peacock Green", "Some Like It Hot Red", "Alchemy Purple" and others.

This is great for the GM guys, but will this be enough for Dodge to put a 6 spd. in the Charger and 300? :popcrn:

GM already had it.    Does Chrysler already have it?

Mopar might as well just use the same Tremecs that everyone else does.
