He didn't lose his career so much as stop wanting it.

He saved almost all his money year after year while "Dukes" was big, and now he likes to do Broadway plays & stuff better than TV.  He's gotten a few decent TV jobs over the years since Dukes, but he usually gets bored & quits them after a few months.

so insted of encouringing your kids to watch DOH tell them to watch pee wee's play house. Listen to jessica simpson music. and take jessy jackson as a role model.
People make mistakes, dosent mean they are bad people or that there body of work that teaches good values should be discredited because of that.
All it means is there human.
And are prime for making fun of for that.
its like when the queen of perfect martha stuart got busted for insider info... Of corse here trader is going to tip her off on some stuff... thats why she was working with him... Its just a sence of justification to see her get nailed for something.

I'm sorry I can't condone the action of drinking and driving.I don't care if he is an actor or what he acted in.If he was the average Joe you guys would want him strung from an oak.As for the rest of the people you mentioned I feel the same about them.I just glad that no innocent person was killed because some idiot has no self control at the bar.BTW, I drank at one time , I never drove after,and I don't drink now so don't pull that card.

I also think that the DOH cast hasn't set a lot of bad examples in the big scheme of things. 
25 years in the public eye.  The worst thing they've done until now is get older & fatter or do a few bad TV movies.

What bad things did he (and the other actors/actresses) do during their PRIME TIME in the light?  Did they do anything bad to draw attention to them and make them less worthy?  The show has been off the air for a long time (except for re-runs now). How long does someone have to live the "right" lifestyle after their time is done?  Forever?  If he was a role model for someone, no need for it to end now, just point out that everyone makes mistakes and make sure you don't make the same one.

But shouldn't we all live the "right " lifestyle as you say? And yes we are all human.We all make mistakes.But just because of who he is or was  some tend to pass this off as no big deal.But if it was an average person he would be villified.He is human , just like you or me.His job just happens to be that he acted on a show that most here love.Doesn't make him better than anyone else in my book.
