It's one of those things where if you just look at the data guide you come away with the impression you can't get the Dana and an automatic.  Once you dig a little deeper into the order guide you find its correct.

Yes, some years that was applicable.. I think '69 started the first year of "High Performance Axle Package" ( 727 w/ 4.10 Dana ). The 4speed tranny equivalent is called the "Super Trak Pack". i have never heard nor seen a '68 727/Dana car......

Also, it's an automatic with a Dana.....I don't think so. But, I'd suffer with it.   ;)

Mark,
What's wrong with that? Both my '69's are auto's with factory 4.10 Dana's....... Both are A32 equipped cars.........

The Dana was relegated to 440 & Hemi cars with manual transmission only up to 1969; however, '69 automatic A12 cars (all of which had 4:10 gears) were the exception to this rule. In 1970, you could option the Dana or a Dana in an automatic. This is what I have always understood and I will admit that I don't know the ins & outs on Track Pack & Super track Pack between 1969-1970; perhaps others here can clarify.

45 years from now, do you think that anyone will want to place an Obama bumper sticker of the back of their freshly restored Challenger or Mustang?

HELL NO!

Gorgeous Charge by the way!!  :drool5:   Great color combo.  :2thumbs:

From the 69 price guide.  Hard to read here but the second paragraph on the left column clearly indicates it could be ordered.

And as I said, if you read the data guide, it implies that its a manual transmission thing the way its worded.

Nope, the A32 Super High Performance axle package is avialable with 440 and 426 w/TorqueFlite only.... the axle was a 4.10 equipped 9 3/4 axle ( ie., Dana )....

Over the years, the term "Track Pak" implied a 4speed and Dana..... (well, that is the case because whether it was a 3.54 or 4.10, the manual 440/426 ALWAYS got a Dana ).

The automatic version " Super and High Performance PKG" just didn't sound cool and faded with time....... The auto version went a different route; the "regular" High Performance 3.55 got the 8 3/4 axle whereas the "Super" High Performance 4.10 gear was only available in a 9 3/4 Dana axle.......

Yes, I am in agreement with you Troy.  My information is spread over a couple of posts but what I was saying was that if you ONLY read the data guide, you get the WRONG impression.  The price guide goes into greater detail and makes it clear.

I've heard the number, two (F6) cars for probably close to twenty years. Not sure if it's accurate, but the experts claimed it was, mostly due to late intro on F6 Green. For some reason, I thought there was one w/ a luggage rack, which might be the other. :Twocents:

Neither of the two known '69 F6 Chargers have a luggage rack. Here's a picture of the other known '69 F6 Hemi Charger (the 4 speed one):

If I remember that old magazine article correctly, didn't/doesn't Travis Bell own this car?

He might have at one time, both are now owned by one person. If you look at the pictures of both cars you'll see they were taken at the same place:

F6 has been my favorite Mopar color for at least the last 15 years.  I know a lot of guys like red, haha, but I wish my red car was green!

Neal_J

My bad recollection - it was then-owned by Tampa DJ Mason Dixon, as the article indicates.

After seeing the picture of the 4 speed F6 Charger, I feel like the the 15 year old boy who is too embarrassed to get up in class because he was daydreaming about the hottie sitting in front of him.  It's o.k. though, I'll be able to get back to the kitchen in a couple of minutes... ::)

I thought Roy Badie had this car in Florida. It was no sale at Russo and Steele last month at Scottsdale.
Anyone know what high bid was? Assuming non original drivetrain? No mention of numbers matching etc.....

I wonder if that Chicago craigslist ad is scam.
