That is one.  :yesnod:

Okay ,but Someone added an 1/8" NPT pipe port to the underside is it make any problem ?

Ghoste

No, shouldn't be.  Can't imagine what it's for given its location.

Same plug in bottom.  Its in the heat crossover so perhaps Edelbrock had it there for something during the casting process.

So which one you suggest ?   :icon_smile_big:

The cheaper one.  They're the same.  Just clean it up, sand blast it if possible, paint it and you're off and running.

That pipe fitting is odd but it shouldn't be a problem...

What are you using the the car for? If you are crusin' the neighborhood and running the freeway/interstate and 2500-2800 rpm, leave the stock one on.

Personally, I would not sand blast it.

I agree. You are asking for trouble. There are countless chemical cleaners that will getting looking very nice.

q8charger, $200.00 for the manifold is a bit too much. After all, it will need to be glass-beaded, and possibly needs Heli-coils installed. In addition, many of these 40 yr. old manifolds have developed cracks, wallowed mounting holes, been milled, etc.
Perform a national Craigslist search. You will be surprised of how many CH6B's are out there. That's how I found mine after one E-bay seller thought he had the Holy Grail and wouldn't accept less than $200.00 excluding shipping. I paid $140.00 shipped for this one, but again, required hours of preparation (including Heli-coils).

I dunno my impression is that the CH4B is sort of the holy grail of manifolds.  It's better than stock, doesn't require exotic throttle cable and 'trans linkage setups, and performs almost as well as the modern intakes of today, like the Performer RPM for example, and THAT manifold won't even fit under most hoods without certain arrangements.

What does a modern intake run-about $300 or so? I think the CH4B is a good buy for around $200 and a reasonable shipping rate AND that's assuming the intake is in reasonable shape...

My CH4B also had the same pipe plug.
Got mine thru a friend.  :icon_smile_wink:
Combined with the Eddy heads it works really well, much better than the Performer that was on there.

I had one of the regular Performers once too and didn't like it at all.

Yup-as soon as I put the performer on my engine the car wouldn't chirp the tires going into 2nd anymore...
