Benefit is aislate for hot under hood and more air fresh in the air filter.
Cons is a wraped mantains moisuture and some headers deteriorates prematurely.
Some headers vendor not recommended wraped

Ghoste

Also supposed to be some performance benefit to keeping the heat up in the headers I believe.

what the other Guys say  :coolgleamA: :2thumbs:  , wrapping headers causes them to rot / rust quicker no matter what coating is put on them ,  ok for a race car that's being constantly taken apart etc ,  no good for a daily ! shame though good idea  :yesnod:

Worse case scenario:  they become oil soaked, then catch fire. :o  I've never seen it happen, but have heard that it could :scratchchin:

Hadda set wrapped on a Duster drag car. Unwrapped to re-wrap and headers had crystallized. Hit with hammer and might as well been made of glass. Wrap em if you like....
