I think the 4T says its a 1974 block but that all I know

is_it_EVER_done?

As EWICKY said, the 4T is a 74 block. Chrysler quit using the letter designating for the year in 73 (which for whatever reason, skipped the "I" and used a "J"). They then went to the "X"T numbering system to designate the year.

The "E" at the end designates a cast crank engine. Even if it was originally a motor home, or truck engine (doubtful), it is no different than any other 74-440, from a block standpoint.

Out of interest, why do you ask?

4T is for 1974, the T for truck would be in a different location on the pad.

4C indicates a 1974 model year vehicle, built at the Jefferson, MI plant.  Don't have my truck book in front of me, but I know C-bodies like New Yorkers and Town & Country Station Wagons were built at this plant.

Do an oil pan comparison if you have it, trucks are different than cars.

Also compare exhaust manifolds if you have them, trucks exit the center, while car's exit at the rear of the engine.

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

If you think about it, it's easy to visualize that the blocks can't possibly have any other cooling passages than what they have for any application. After all, the water flows around the cylinders. There just isn't any room for anything extra.

The motor home heads have different cooling passages (on some), but the blocks are the same.

Correct, T after the year stands for Trenton engine plant, T after the displacement  means truck.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
