 That is a good write up and seems with little bias.

We still can't order one :shruggy:

Mike Musto is driving the car tomorrow.  Can't wait to see his write up and opinion! :2thumbs:
My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

Drove the Hellcat yesterday - it's good. Really good. Speed wise think GT500, brakes are outstanding and the suspension handles all of that chubby-chub weight really well. This is a GT car, not a sports car or a pony car and for 60K there's nothing better out there for the money.

If you've got specific questions post up and I'll try and answer them the best I can.

Cheers - MIke

:2thumbs:  So does this mean you found a dealer that would make a commitment?

NYCMille

The problem is the dealers don't know ANYTHING about this car yet - and I mean NADA, ZERO, ZIP. I flogged this thing for 4 hours at PIR and it's really is impressive. Expect the dealers to mark these up by at LEAST 10-15K...

That is what I expected to hear. They--the dealers-- are just like the rest of us.  Waiting for the REAL release of the car.
:2thumbs: for your opportunity to flog one.

How does the Supercharger sound when you get on it?

Can you hear it from in the car?

What is the max boost you hit?

Any noticeable lag?

NYCMille

QuoteHow does the Supercharger sound when you get on it?
- amazing. The whine is intoxicating.

QuoteCan you hear it from in the car?
- absolutely.

QuoteWhat is the max boost you hit?
- no idea. I was running over 120 in the pouring rain at PIR and could care less. You can however configure not only the 8.5in touch screen, but the 4in center screen to tell you whatever you want to know.

QuoteAny noticeable lag?
- nope, none. This thing is really dialed in.

Are you getting one?

If mike saids its good this must be really good.   :2thumbs:

QuoteAre you getting one?
- nope. It's not that I wouldn't drive one, I buy one in a heartbeat. Right now though it just doesn't fit my needs. For those looking for a fast, a VERY fast grand touring car though, the Hellcat is an amazing option.

myk

Well if anything you're smart enough to buy one after the dealer markups and the eBay auction stupidity...

Absolutely & at sticker price.

Did anyone hear that exhaust? Thank you dodge for showing what a muscle car should sound like!!!  :icon_smile_big:
69 440 RT matching.. mostly original!

NYCMille

The exhaust is a full 2.75 inch with an x-pipe, electronic butterflies and twin resonators on each side. One the road it sounds great, on the track it sounds evil...

Mike - was it a manual or an auto?   If it was an auto, how did the paddles feel?  Any lag in shifting?
[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68
[ŌŌ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ][ŌŌ] = 69
(ŌŌ)[ƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗƗ](ŌŌ) = 70

NYCMille

I drove both the manual and the auto and they're both great. The manual is a modified version of the TR6060 that's found in the Viper. The shifts are tight and crisp and it feels much better than the base SRT. The 8-speed automatic is also great AND it's fully customizable allowing you to actually program an in-dash shift light for any gear based on your RPMs. They've also added rev-matching which is a God send when on track.

My personal choice - the auto. It shifted great on the street and on track it's simply easier to drive with the paddles and rev-matching. As for lag, there is hardly any at all. It's not as good as some double clutch boxes I've driven, but it works great in this application and fits the personality of the car.

Wonder what kind of 1/4 mile times it could get if that engine pkge is installed in the super stock bodies of a couple years ago?

1974dodgecharger

Investment time! I might get all brochures, fender tag, pics of where on the lot at dealership it sat, pics of salesman, autograph of everyone involved of sale, make the most documented hellcat ever drive it off the lot, out away in my garage with car cover, and clean it once a month and in 20 years I should be a multi millionaire and the car will be the most well documented hellcat ever with 50 miles on odo.
