While doing a bit of decoding on my fender tag I learned that my 75 RR was built to Canadian specifications. Hmmmm....

I do not have the unleaded gas filler flap nor does my gas gauge say "unleaded only". However I have MPH not KPH on the speedo.

My car does not have an EGR valve but there is a capped vacuum hose that would connect. I don't have the EGR sensor, but I have the OSAC valve for the distributor advance.

Any idea on what is different between US specs and Canadian specs for 75?

I do have two fender tags---which is weird.

The First one reads:

05150 127981 221 308864
28 G11 R31
KG8 C
KG8 B6X9 000 A16 B15215
E64 D34 RM21 N5A 129947

I have a second on that has holes (the "X") punched in the metal
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 X 8 9
0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 X

Also, I looked for the build sheet. I looked under the bottom and back of the rear seat, bottoms and back of both bucket seats and on top of the glove compartment. Anywhere else I should look?

Thanks!

Even in canada i dont think we had Kph on the speedo until later... but im not the right person to ask  :smilielol:

Yeah we didn't get that metric crap until a short time later.  The other clue to a Canadian built car is the beer cooler between the front seats.  No bench seats in Canada, all buckets with a beer cooler.

The second tag is an inspection tag, there were multiple types used over the years & some plants had their own versions.

Thanks on the inspection tag info.

So, with the Canadian specs does that mean the car WAS sold in Canada or COULD have been sold in Canada?

Agreed.

The C on your fender tag & the B VON prefix both indicate that the car was built for Canadian sale.

Thanks.

I guess that explains some of the missing emissions equipment compared to the FSM. Other than a few vacuum hoses, carb ports and an ERG valve, everything seems the same.

Would owner manuals and sales brochures be different for Canadian sale?

I did learn that the car was in far western Iowa from 99 to '10ish. Funny how things move about (or aBoot?).

All you have to do is watch a lot of HGTV with your wife and you can pick up on the accent. It seems that all the home remodeling shows are based in Toronto.

Maybe, maybe im just not aware of it  i've spoken to australians with heavy accents and they usually say "I DONT HAVE AN ACCENT, YOU HAVE AN ACCENT"

All of the cars/trucks I have are.Sorry I don't have one for a 75 road runner.

Ghoste

There are frequently some differences with that print goods and they were printed in Canada.  If you want any Canadian versions of that stuff for your car, I have a source for you.

Scaregrabber

I have a Canadian 75 Road Runner brochure. I can take some photos of it when I get back into my house if you like (currently we're evacuated because of a forest fire too close for comfort). You'll find all the engine specs are different than the USA cars and as I recall the brochure has pretty good detail in that area.

In fairness, you're closer to being Canadian than most of your fellow Yankee counterparts
