Thank's I will also get some pictures up sometime I haven't even taken any. I do know it was a 318 and plan on getting a 440 for it the trunk and floor pans are rock solid except for the back seat floor boards so I will have to do some work there engine bay looks really good. I will have to do some work to the lower right side quarter. It has the bench seats but I'm wanting to go with some bucket seats...need's a new front windshield , headliner , rear exterior window trim , mirrors , lots of nick knacks and  a good paint job....car was sitting in a barn for years so its a lucky find

Going to try and restore it the best I can do.. wanting to put a 440 in it. Thinking about painting it in the b5-blue and put the black vinyl top back on like it had original...I'm open to ideas..

Two things to consider if you are putting a 440 in there.   First of all, since it's a small block car, you will either have to get special mounts from Schumachers ( http://www.engine-swaps.com/Pages/ProductsYear/73UP.html ) or you will need to replace the k frame with one from 73 and up b-body (Charger, Cordoba, Magnum).

As for your rear windshield outer trim needs, I have the lower pieces (2).

PM me if you want more info.

I notice that you have an SE hood on a non SE Charger, well at least the hood emblem.

Anyway keep up the awesome work

My 73 looks almost identical, orange with the original brown under where the vinyl too was. Was painted b5 blue in between the original and the orange. What I was saying is with the 73 there is no need for the Schumacher mounts or swapping the k frame. The 73-74 charger K frames were the same between SB and BB. Spool type mounts on my 74 400 BB and fell into place like it always lived there. Good luck on your project!

alkyburner

Thank's for that info....

Got a 400 big block built for it dyno numbers are 467.6 lbs. of torque and 423.0 hp

JB400

Looks pretty, but you may want to get a different thermostat housing unless yours is billet aluminum.  The chrome ones are known to leak.

skip68

Yep. The chrome one's are known for leaking.   Looks great though and the numbers are good.   It should run really well for you in your car.   :2thumbs:

VegasCharger

Great looking engine and great numbers :2thumbs: :2thumbs: :2thumbs:

I notice that you have an older style water pump housing (lower hose exits driver's side), if you plan on using your original A/C and power steering components as well as the radiator you should switch to the 73 and later style wp housing (lower exits pass. side) see pic below. If you plan on doing all underhood mods then it's no problem. Just saying.

Great progress

EDIT I forgot that your Charger was originally a small block, nevermind :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

You'll just have to get matching components on which water pump set-up you use.

EccentricMagpies

Welcome to the site.   Looks like a great car to start with too.  I kinda like the current color with the black rims myself. But B5 blue is a great choice as well
