71 tail lamps

I bought a set of tail lamps for my 71 R/T, the originals are black and the ones I bought are grey, otherwise they appear the same but I haven't had a close inspection, part nos etc. Which was used on what model?

three colors setup in 71s: Gray-argent-black  and just black in 72s... 71s on all R/Ts and Bees with colored bumpers, 72s just on Rallyes. Casting number is the same, just would change service part number

However we have got several discussions about that around Moparts board. I personally have seen a really weird color setup in a 71 R/T locally with FACTORY black insert and chromed edges, matching one Charger brochure around.

Mopar parts catalog just shows one part number though for 71s.

yeap, but just talking about the debate if some 71s got black too, or not ( if they really exist or not )
