Did the Wheelstanding General saga ever get resolved?

There was quite a bit of drama surrounding it for awhile, what eventually happened?

I have a magazine article from years ago somewhere, I seem to remember that the guy who built it ( Rich Sefton?? ) and then had his ex-wife sell it under him with dodgy paperwork finally tracked it down to the new owner who had collaborated with the ex wife.

Rich heard the guy was taking it to a show to display it so he organised to turn up to the hotel car park en route to the show with the sheriff and correct ownership papers and they seized back.

Will try to find the article later on.

That was in MCG, but yes you're right it was some years ago now.  Thats why I wondered how it ever ended up.

I remember reading that all involved in that have passed away. Wheres the car now? Idk.

A future barn find with a VIN tag & stickers proving it was a one of one wheel stander from the factory with A/C & cruise control so you can drink your beer without over heating or getting leg cramps while showing off to impress the women on Main Street.

Rich passed away a few years ago, without the car.  AFAIK there has been no further action on it since then.

Its to bad Rich's daughter (who posted on the old thread a few times) didn't get the car. She seems like a really nice person.  Unfortunately, it probably costs way to much to fight in the court, so she let it go...

Ghoste

Has the car been seen since or is it just hiding away in a barn someplace?

This one is on facebook...says the pic is from 2012

The car has been mostly hidden in a barn since the 80s.

It ended up being a weird little footnote to DOH but not a lot more.

It never looked enough like a stock GL to use on the TV show.  It would have been a great publicity stunt for the TV show if they toured it around to make dragstrip appearances, but it ended up being completed too late in the show's run for that to happen.  By 1984/85 the producers were slashing DOH's budget and milking it dry.  By the time of DOH's great "second wind" of interest in the early 2000s the ownership fiasco was keeping it from appearing much.
