Anyone else see the ad? They said they can take ANY Charger and make it like new again  :shruggy: Seems like the price is decent, given how bad so many of these cars have gotten, when left in fields, etc.

Interesting  :popcrn:

They said for the price, they make any parts not avail.  :shruggy: It's all in the ad...  :Twocents:

I haven't seen the ad but I will take a scientific wild azz guess and say that for $17K you bring them your crusty body and they will give you back something in primer that you can take and get painted and put all back together.    They will hang panels and fix your crusty body on their own jigs if you are willing to pay for it.
And they probably have a few spare bodies around to gather parts for what they don't produce.   As I was told by Mike Grey awhile back,  they had no plans to produce repro Charger bodies.

US Car Tool was offering a similar service for the about the same $$$ a few years back... maybe they still are.  I didn't check.

Brian,

I went back and looked at the ad, which was a two-page spread. You are right, it is for UScartool.com  They must be an AMD distributor. Anyways, AMD is in a LARGE logo, centered to the ad. I suppose they want you to think it is AMD, relying on their brand power for the UScartool.com service.

It's $17,500, w/ convertibles and wing cars more, and those w/ roof damage.

Sorry for any confusion. Like I mentioned, it looked more like an AMD ad.  :Twocents:

I wonder how much of that price is labor. Lets say the car needs every available panel AMD makes. Maybe someone has more time than me and wants to make a parts list with a dollar total?

The bulk of it is labor. They can promise that price to every car because they almost all need the same work. Well, anyone looking for this sort of offer at least. (If you had a solid car to start with you wouldn't bother.) If a couple panels don't need replacement then it's extra money in their pocket. Remember that this is just a rust-free body. You'll still need to prime, fill, block sand, and paint the entire car.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Just a heads up, but there were financial issues going on in that company not too long ago & you can find it online with a simple google search.  :Twocents:

Having been burned many years ago by a body/resto shop with my car, any.....AND I MEAN ANY red flag with any company forces me to use caution.

Our repro Charger unibodies are basically here.  It's just a "some assembly required" deal for now.
