I see no good reason for the owner going telling people its a factory hemi car (especially given the low production numbers). The junkyard lie about pulling the hemi and potentially crushing the body only makes him sound more stupid IMO.  :rotz:

This is how rumors get out of hand.  :pullinghair:

Got an email from a guy not long ago asking if I had ever heard the story about Chrysler copying the wing car idea from AMC.    The jack wagon owner of the car had his tall tale town pretty convincingly.

Doesn't mention the '88 Dodge Daytona nose.  :smilielol:

The jokester had my friend convinced the car had spent the last 40 years in a Kenosha AMC museum.

Such an unbelievable amount of B.S....and there's no reason for it!  :icon_smile_angry:

myk

Real or not, who cares; Daytonas  and Superbirds ARE the legend.  Anything else just hopes to be a blurb in a car magazine...

I mean there's no reason to go deep into bullshit ....some people may actually believe its true.  :eek2:

The guy with the amc knows no shame?
My guess is he craves the attention from people who don't know better.
Makes him feel like he actually owns a REAL wingcar.

Its sort of sad actually... :shortbus:  He can build whatever he wants....but the written description makes me really wonder? :mcride: "Under agreement with Chrysler, AMC placed the "Rebel 500" in the AMC Museum in Kenosha - sat there for 40 years".

F8-4life

tufcat I agree its a sad example.
But he is free to do what he wants.

Mytur Binsdirti

Anyone here missing a nose from a 1990 Daytona?

There would be a LOT of people who believe that signboard, we live in a world where reality shows are actually considered real and wikipedia is a go to source for rock solid factual answers.
