When re-installing a fuel sending unit in the gas tank of a 2nd gen, how do you get the lock ring to lock when the space is so tight??
Thanks!!

i.ve never done one on the charger, yet, but i do them on new cars all the time. use some sil-glyde or vasaline or something slippery to help.

...or a screwdriver and a mallet. Works just fine.  ;)

I just did mine.  I had the car on stands and the axle all the way down so I had tons of room.  If you can't do this then loosen the tank straps to drop the tank an inch or so on the front to give you more clearance if needed.

I bought a new lock ring and tool and they did not match.  One of the tabs on the ring was larger than the others so the tool couldn't slide over it.  I ground it down a bit so it fit.
