I still say that you'll get way more car for your money with a 3rd gen   :yesnod:

for the same price as a fixer upper 2nd gen  you can be in the car and driving a very nice 3rd gen  and as much as I love 70 models there are some expensive 70 only parts there  where a 68-69 might be easier and cheaper to fix   :Twocents:

.....TO BE HONEST GUYS im getting a bit tired of looking  :icon_smile_tongue: but itll come

:smilielol:

Good news is you are being patient about it and that will pay off.

It seems the best deals are found when you aren't even looking.... Or in your case, being patient and picky.
As you said, it'll come
'74 Rallye 4spd (WH23L4) (1 of 94)
'74 Rallye Auto (WH23L4) (quad black)
'69 Swinger 340 - 4spd
'70 Duster 340 - 4spd

Ghoste

Yes, you 've been at it hard and heavy here for a bit so I can understand you getting burned out.  Thats okay and maybe even a good thing, it helps you see the forest AND the trees.  It takes time and trust me (us) the right car is going to fall right into your lap.

Dreamcar

This may have also been mentionned, but I find certain times of year better for getting a deal...like in the fall when someone doesn't want to pay for winter storage.

The VIN pictured on the dash and in the add details does not match the VIN on the body (rad support) or fender tag. Numbers matching???

This has been an extremely informative thread.   But, like FamilyMopar said on the first page, you have to figure out what your dream car is (at least the generation) and focus on it.   Otherwise it's apples-to-oranges and you will likely over pay or just get something you didn't really want.   It's the mistake made 98% of used car buyers.

Thanks again for the market info and best of luck. :2thumbs:

Dash VIN and body numbers do not match on '68. Body numbers should match sequence number on fender tag.

You are gonna be putting additional $$ into anything you buy.
So just get the one you really want, & you will be a step ahead already.
For me a 3rd gen is a great car but I would only want one after I got the 68 I really wanted.

compared to the others , this looks a deal from the pictures & description , although given its rare ,  don't think its the kind of car your looking for , no offence meant ,  , just posted as a price guide to compare ,  to the others that !  need soo much work .  :Twocents:

think its one for a serious third generation fan    :coolgleamA:

I was just looking at that car.  Has some cool features. V21 hood treatment.  Nice interior and body looks good.
Wonder if it's a stripe delete. Is there a way to know on a lynch road car?

i'm far from a expert !  think you can just make out  V68 on the broadcast sheet , which is delete longdetudinals ( spelling ), I think ! ,    not sure why its not on a fender tag , don't really know anything about lynch road tags ,  little I do know is for the second generation  Hamtramck & St'louis built chargers , sorry cant be of much help  .

Yeah that seems right.

With the factory sunroof, i say slap the rallye stripe on it, fatter tires, get it for about 3k less than asking price and call it good.

:)

Here you can see some similar comments about a quest to find a 10k second gen driver.

That's really cool to see what other people are finding even though they aren't even close to the scale were at

That 70 with a 69 front end is not the way to go  :yesnod: just talked to the owner it's just too pieced together :P

And with seemingly minimal effort...   :shruggy:  ...  it could clone the one for sale on moparts which is a very sharp looking car and is listed at 19500.

No worries.   Just kinda interesting to see the difference in overall condition between them as your search continues.
