Guys im kinda in a bind do you think I should drive up and get the car myself or fly up and get a shipper to bring it back? What would you guys do? Thanks guys :shruggy:

You should have left already. :slap:

I wish I could have but I had school and as of now I can't leave but I can leave tomorrow night and the owner is working with me and holding it for me

I can try to help you too if you need.  I have some plans for the next couple of days so it depends on when you would be up.  Bring some straps and you will be fine.  Naturally the guy selling you the car will be there to help too.
I PM'd you my number

Good luck.

That 68 Charger is a steal at 10k

And to boot... He is going to cover some of the travel costs.  Even though, all this time, his phone is ringing off the hook
Peculiar to say the least. But maybe he is just a nice guy. Soon find out I guess.

I agree, the price seems really good.  Maybe too good.  I really hope this works out for Ben and I can not wait to see photos of him standing next to his car.  I hope this guy doesn't have him drive all the way up there and there is something that the seller is not saying. Fingers crossed.  I guess we should know by the end of the weekend....

Well it will be about 13 hours I am getting the trailer ready tomorrow and heading off tommorow so I believe as of now I'm driving

What precautions would you guys take when trailering the car and the engine

Where are the best places to
1 cum along the the car up the trailer
2 tie down the car

And lastly how would you guys transport the engine buy a harbor freight stand? Build a stand when I'm thier out of 2*4 and a pallet use a tire ect

:shruggy:

Thanks for the help guys all of this is comming ip a bit fast so it's great to get you guys help  :2thumbs:

This doesn't look too bad http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200460832_200460832  :scratchchin:

How long is the cable on the puller? If it's short, be prepared to use a tow rope or a chain to extend it. Also, bring wheel chocks to chock the wheels, unhook the cable, extend the cable to set it up & pull the car up all over again. You will possibly end up reeling in ALL of the cable before the car is even on the trailer.

Bring heavy rope or ratchet tie downs, maybe even a few bungee cords to secure loose parts. I once bought a convertible that did not have roof latches & had to secure the top to the car. You also never know if door latches, locks, hood latches, etc., are going to be in good working order until you are physically there to test them.

Good luck & hope it works out to be a good project.

Make sure your trailer has a spare tire, lug wrench and a block to get it off the ground.

Buy a decent engine stand, i did, the last thing you want is to crush your foot or tear off a kneecap because you tried to save 200$  :eek2:

is this the end or not?

Of the deal or looking? Looking no way I do not give up i promise mabeay I need to stop posting because I have taken up a lot of you guys es time but I will find one

And I believe the deal is just postponed it sounds to me from what he's been texting that someone in his family is having a bad health problem

I don't like the sound of it either, and the deal did seem too good in a way.  Who knows, maybe it still works out, and I hope so.  At least he didn't let you start driving up there!

Hopefully this works out, but if not you will still find the one.  And don't stop posting now, everyone has come this far with you we need the satisfaction.  If this deal falls through it may just take a bit.  And that's ok.

Hang on- his family? The seller?

That changes everything. I took it to mean your family received a message about a health emergency.

This has only wrecked one deal I was ever making about an alcohol modified 460 in a 59 Ford. This usually doesn't cancel a deal, just be patient and keep up communication with the seller. Read anything you want to send him before you hit the button and make sure you aren't going to offend anybody. Ask if there's anything you can do to help, 99% he'll turn you down but it'll make everybody feel a little better and I say this from being on both sides of these things.

Stick to it. It's never easy to get something you actually want, there's always something to go wrong, but no reason to call this one done yet.

When did he take down the page?

He took it down yesterday after asking me if I was very interested and talked to me about taking it down because he got tired of all the calls  and texts through out t the night

It may be legit but it seems fishy to me.  I hope it is legit.  Did he ever ask for money?  A deposit to hold?  Did his email say anything about when he will be available or other arrangements?
