Whats the Detroit car? I live in Detroit & would look at it with you to make sure you don't buy a POS if you want. Let me know. LEON. :scratchchin: :shruggy: :Twocents:

Hard to go wrong with a 69.  Of course, I maybe one of the more biased ones.  Make an offer.  Others are watching this thread with the same hope of scoring one.

Baldwinvette77

Yeah, try for the 69, hard to go wrong with a 4 speed 2nd gen  :yesnod:

Benfro89

So guys but the guy with the 69 said 10,000 was a very low balled bad offer  :icon_smile_tongue: I'm out

Now it's the 68 or that 73
LOOKING FOR THE ONE :)

70 sublime

I bet the guy with that 69 is thinking closer to $20 000
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Ghoste

He should just put his price on there instead of things like "make an offer" and "serious buyers only".  If he has a minimum of 20K then put a price of 25K on it and let someone beat him down.  :Twocents:

nvrbdn

i agree. if you have a thought in mind, get a price in the ball park, or expect people to low ball you to feel you out.

and i also agree that people are following this thread to see whats out there. :coolgleamA:

LOOKING FOR THE ONE :)

duanesterrr

OKC car for me.  It will never be as desirable as the 68 or 70... but it is cool and can be a daily driver.  Which seems like your 2 top priorities.

nvrbdn

dang, hard choice. if i have a car to drive, i love my 70. and if i can get it for the same price. plus it is completely complete. and did i say that all the parts are there?  :scratchchin:

im thinking the 68 may come the cheapest, which means i would really lean that way if im stuck on a second gen, but the 70 is complete, and the 68 needs things to make it driveable (like brakes)

the 73 may be able to be driven right now. (hopefully you can have a member make sure it can be driven right now since he doesnt include anything that may be wrong with the car)

70 Dodge Charger 500

The 68 and 70 are project cars that will need to be completely gone through to get them in daily driver status.  The 73 would be the car to favor, but is also at/above your price range.

I don't like the 73 or 74 much compared to the older ones. No Insult Intended. I don't think it would be good for daily Transportation like you said you wanted? LEON.

The 68 is no longer listed

The red 70 is so much more car than the green 70

Suprised it is still listed

:iagree: The red 70 has a lot more to offer than the green.  But I do hate the "shoot me an offer" business.  Know your price.

Ha i would LOVE the red 70 that is my dream car but sadly I dont have 19,500 for the car  :'(

and now the 68 is gone  :'(

Ok so i found out about that 73 in Oklahoma

It is not a original rally but it does have a swapped 340 and original interior and somewhat new show car paint and i talked to the guy on the phone for a long time and he likes the idea of a younger guy buying the car and is willing to put on the old wheels and sell the car to me for 13000

The car also has a nice stereo installed by the guy selling it
oh and it would be good to mention the guy that is selling it owns a paint an body shop that is quite popular so he seems to know his stuff.

At this point in time the sec. gen. cars are more desirable so the prices are higher.
You can get more in the driver range for your money when looking at 72 and above. But when the future turnaround comes (selling or trading your car) you would be better off with a sec. gen. car.
Times do change but 40 years have gone by and the 72 and above cars appeal to a smaller crowd and bring smaller prices.

On the other hand with a later year car you have more freedom to make the car as you want vs the concern about upsetting an original value potential that is an on going topic in the hobby.

Edit --add--- any preservation of any year car is a positive.
