Hey! I put on a new set of tires and wheels a couple of weeks ago-- it really makes a difference in the look of the car.

One problem I'm having is that the raised white lettering (RWL) on the BFG TAs on the rear set is yellowish and will not seem to clean up nice and white like the front.

I've tried different clean solutions, scrubbers, "bleach white" brillo pads...etc. Nothing seems to brighten them up to match the fronts.

Any ideas?

Paint thinner applied carefully.

I use the spray on "Bleach White" from auto part stores

works for me

Very carefully.  I think, with paint thinner (or acetone) you are actually removing the dirty layer of white instead of cleaning it.
Again, be carefull.

TSP, maybe? (Trisodium Phosphate)

The careful part applies to whatever you use actually, if you let it drip on to the black portion of the sidewall it seems to bleed on to the white letters everytime.

Roger that. I'll give the acetone a shot.

The Wesleys bleach white did not seem to make a difference. Funny, it is both of the rears tires; the fronts are perfect.

It's funny how it does that, some clean nicely and others its a struggle.  I have a tougher time with one of my front tires than the other three.  :shruggy:

Dremel.

Yep, a dremel with a soft buffing wheel and some Bleach White.

Took about 10 minutes to "buff off" the discoloration

I noticed that that top layer of the RWL was not so smooth and had "cracks" trapping dirt. The buffing seemed to remove the top layer of the RWL and smoothed out surface.

I guess that is why women like the micro demabrasion.

I'm going to have to try that, thanks for the tip.

Best RWL "cleaner" is a side-wheel grinder, grind 'em 'til they're gone.  :smilielol:
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
