Steering box input seal,cant get it out.

The seal where the column hooks up "worm shaft seal" needs to be replaced. Leaks real bad. Pulled the column out. It is the smaller seal so I cant drill it and put a screw in it like some are able to do. Very little room to work. Can barely get a small flat head screw driver on it.Really dont want to pull the box out. Any ideas out there? Paul

So it looked like a real chore to get the steering box out, but it wasn't. Took about 15 minute to get it out. Pulled the seal out easily with the box on the bench. Got a new seal at NAPA, 8 bucks. Reinstalled box, another 15 minutes. No leaks! Yippie

ill remember that. maybe I should replace mine as I have the engine out
