Tail panel emblem issue

I just bought the tail panel emblem 'Charger + arrow' for 69-70 non R/T's.  There are three pins on the back, the one behind the arrow should be right in the middle relative to the height.  It is about 1/8" higher so when the emblem is installed, the right side is down.

I contacted megaparts and they say they all come from the same tooling and haven't had an issue with the 50 or so they sold this year.

So has anyone bought the same emblem?  Is it straight when mounted on the car?

I really don't want to go through the whole return thing again so it looks like I'm drilling a hole...

Hard Charger

I got one from YO and had it replaced. did not mount level.

I sent pics of the emblem and my old to megaparts and they claim all their emblems are like the one they sent me.  Well that's great so I'm supposed to have a crooked emblem on my car?

I'm sending it back, I can't drill another hole in my car and I'm not about to adapt a $40 emblem.

Repro is nice... when it fits.

I'm guessing Troy from your description you are refering to 2902306. Sometimes I found emblems are worth spending the $$ on and get them rechromed and repaint them yourself.
You can see from the pics, it is similar to the "Charger" script on my 73 deck lid. 67vs73.
The arrow may be same or similar to the smaller one on my door.
On the 73, these stick on. But I have seen many fellows use the scotch emblem tape and just break off the pins.
I know you want to do it right, I would too ... just sayin'.
But you may want to see of these folks' item is different.

The arrow pin on my original is off in the vertical exactly 1/64". I didn't pay much attention to the pins on the replacement from YO, but it went right in the holes.

I can post pictures later that shows how much off the emblem was on my car.  I sent it back for a refund.  I contacted Vans and asked about his and he says all these emblems are made by the same company so it's hit or miss.

My stock emblem is really pitted and lost all its color so it looks pretty bad.  All I wanted was to make it look a bit nicer but I guess that's out.  Maybe I can find a decent used one and if not then I will have to restore this emblem with the rest of the car when the time comes.

I ordered one from year one weeks ago and now they tell me its out of stock and should be in mid july. I wish I had known that when I ordered it.

I purchased the Testors model paint and Martha (who has a stedier hand than I do) painted with a brush the red and black on the 67 arrows.  They came out OK but I am fussy, and I can see brush marks.
On the one side of the 73 I simply taped off best I could and sprayed the black with trim paint and the red with a bright red Krylon paint.  Then if there was any overspray I took a Q-Tip diped in laquer thinner and removed it - carefully.

Dino,

Ill look and see what I can find at Carlisle for ya. Send me a PM with your cell # and I can text you pics of anything I find and we can get it to you if we find something.  If you send me pics of yours I can use it as a starting point for comparison and weed out the unnecessary digital traffic.
