The adjuster cable on the driver side of my rear drum brake assembly is broken.  Does anyone one know, do I need to buy a whole new kit to get one of these, or is there anyone that sells them individualy ?

You can buy them individually. RockAuto has them for less than a dollar, for example. You can also buy a whole self-adjuster repair kit for less than $5.
