I'm going to mod a 69 fender to fit my 68. Is there a hole saw available to make the hole for the side marker? I mic'd it at about 1.35 inches with a cheap caliper micrometer. This sound about right?

I measured it properly with the inside caliper probes.  Taking the picture was more difficult.
The dimension shown is correct.

I would use a carbide bit on a drill but thats just me

I have no problem with that just I never seen a bit that big. What size would I be looking for?

Just use a dremel and go slow.

There are things called chassis punch.   See the pic.  Problem is that it is designed to be used on a flat piece.   Isn't the 68 side marker on the body line?  I don't know how well it would in such a case.  They come in various sizes.  Google it, lots out there.

Dremel ! Don't know why I didn't think of that.  Yes the hole is right on the body line which is not making it easy.
