Ok so I heard people talking about the "October" issue of Mopar Action with the '69 Charger on the cover. How can the October issue be out yet?  :shruggy:

That's what I thought but then someone was talking on Mopar Action Magazine's facebook page about opening the October 2014 issues and seeing their car in the Reader's Rides section.  :shruggy:

Ok I think I figured it out. The Month stamp is when that issue ENDS (and the month the new one comes out). The one currently on the shelves (has been for the past couple months) states "AUG 2014"

It only comes out every other month and is typically way ahead. Keeps people buying it thinking they have the latest issue.

The cover looks like chop story to me.

From an online resource:

In the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the standard practice is to display on magazine covers a date which is some weeks or months in the future from the actual publishing/release date. There are two reasons for this discrepancy: first, to allow magazines to continue appearing "current" to consumers even after they have been on sale for some time (since not all magazines will be sold immediately), and second, to inform newsstands when an unsold magazine can be removed from the stands and returned to the publisher or be destroyed (in this case, the cover date is also the pull date).[1]

Weeklies (such as Time and Newsweek) are generally dated a week ahead. Monthlies (such as National Geographic Magazine) are generally dated a month ahead, and quarterlies are generally dated three months ahead.

I just thought they were really bad with calenders but now I think cudaken is right.

Well the "Oct" issues is already in stores here so that leaves my theory of the mag month being the month it's pulled from shelves bust (since the issues that was just pulled from shelves says "Aug")  :shruggy:

When I spoke to Cliff even he said he was unsure about the rubber chicken availability.  :yesnod:

When I saw the '69 on the cover I thought that might lessen my chances as well for the next issue. Cliff said otherwise, so I guess we'll just have to wait & see.  :scratchchin:   :2thumbs:

My car won't be on the cover or be any huge article. I'll probably be at the back of the magazine as an after thought

Some girl that got a chicken the other year took a bunch of pix with her chicken photo-bombing all kinds of stuff but I can't find the link for it.   It was funny.   Correction:  Found it   http://www.moparaction.com/Article/weather_or_not/Gunther.html

FYI:  whatever place Cliff got the the chickens from cost MA more than the T-shirts.

Last year was a first... some big ol mama asked for a 5X.   We only go up to 3X.

Our club shirts this year went up to 3x and 4x and they sold out first. Then the 2XL.

From the way I figure it, 2 months from about now should be the next issue.

Anyone have the new issue? Sadly my car didn't make the reader's rides for this issue so I was told. Oh well maybe in December  :shruggy:
