I know it's not Charger related but I came across a 70 Cuda' not far from me. Car is Lemon Twist yellow. (or was anyway) Most paint is sanded off. Black bucket seats.  383 Magnum and 4 speed with pistol grip shifter. Doesn't look like the motor/trans has ever been taken out. I snapped a pic of the fender tag.
Are there any codes that would show if it's an AAR or T/A model?

I ask on here because most Mopar guys knowledge goes into the other models... And I don't have time to join a Cuda Forum!

Ghoste

If its a factory 383 its definitely not an AAR.  (AAR was the Plymouth and TA was the Dodge btw)  In the VIN, the fifth digit represents the engine and if it is "J", then it is an AAR (or TA).

If memory is right I think the AAR & T/A also had A53 on fender tag.  LEON.

One thing to look for is BS in the vin. Stands for Barracuda Special. All so Magnum is a Dodge only term. Cuda's have Super Commando's engines unless it is a Hemi or 440 6 Barrel. (Not counting none HP motors)

My Cuda is all so a 1970 so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

It would be easy to tell what you found if you post the tag photo.

From what I decoded:
Lemon Twist
Black vinyl top
383
4 speed
side decals not sure what type.
I have some more pics of the whole I will post.
Motor is tight but all there.
The underside is pretty solid. Frame rails look nice. It's got rust under the hood in different areas.
I'm still trying to come to an agreeable price with the owner.
It's not an AAR, but I belive only 1900 were made with a 383/4spd?

Sounds like a nice car,good luck !!!! :2thumbs:

Alaskan_TA

It is not coded for any side stripes, so if is has any they were added at some point.

I can tell you it was a LA Made car. LEON.

I was able to buy this car.
It was bought by the lady I bought it from in 1976, driven for a few years and sat since about 1980.
83,000 original miles. The broadcast sheet is there and in very nice condition. Vinyl top was perfect under 35 years of dirt. Floors and frame rails are perfect.
Dash pad is very nice.
