I'm putting in a new  brake combination valve in a few days when it comes in ,is any thing i should know or can i just swap it and bleed the system? The guy before me also cut the warning light connector right out of the harness dose anyone know where i can get an end that connects to the valve piece.

chargerspecialitys Keith on that connector ,
had to do the same for mine , withat prop valve , just make sure everything nice and tight before install , i had a few issues with the assembly by who ever, and its a lot harder to do with it in the car , difficult enought to do the brakes lines up

Thanks on the connector i will have to check them out. As for the valve i have the cast iron version on mine from 72 had a very hard time finding one but at least i will be able to unbolt and bolt this one in otherwise i would have to plumb in the brass version that everyone carries.

I look forward to hearing how this mod goes, I need to do the exact same thing on my car, 72 cast iron valve on a 69.  I can't remember what size it is so put a caliper on the threaded rod on the combo valve.  #8 is 0.1640 and #10 is 0.1900.

I need to do the same thing to my car so any tips on how to swap the distribution block for the cast iron combo valve is appreciated.  Did you need to fab anything or buy new lines or was it a bolt on job?

I had to make my own lines in a few cases and i made my own bracket to hold the valve. What i will do is take some shots of what i did and put them here so you can see what I did, give me a day or two and i can do that.

OK hears some shots of what i have with some explanation of the photo. Note that i had to make my own lines for this bought a 25 foot piece of copper/nickle brake line easier to bend your self. Its the shiny looking brake line.

The old valve:

Shows the front brake lines in the metering valve:

Close up side view ,can see feed line to metering valve, rear line to rear master, top frt to frt master and 1 frt line going off top metering valve:

Attachment to fender view, I used a piece of flat stock bought at my local hardware store bolted to the fender and bent to a upright position with 2 holes one for the tab and 1 to bolt to.

that old valve on your car is the kelsey hayes combo piece used usually on 71 and lates cars, didn't know was used on earliers!

That's the one I want to put in place of my drum distribution block.

Keith if someone put that valve on your car then the lines were probably changed as well.

I think the smaller of the two is the metering valve so are there any valves in the bigger one or is it in essence the same as my drum distribution block?  If so then I should just buy the smaller valve and bracket and cut a piece off my rear brake line.

I have a used one that supposedly works but time will tell, if that's the one to use at least.

Dino,
that smaller valve is for front lines mate, have a look at Keiths plumbing diagram ,
this is the set up usually found on later production 69 factory disk brake set ups, all keith is missing is the one your thinking of which is a small hold off valve usally found further back on rear brake  line

Did you find the wiring harness connector?
Certain I have one, cut from a new harness as well.
