sunroofsuperbird

Hi Here is a few pics of a superbird Clone I am making. Hotrod98 said everyone here would like to see it. Its unfinished but I am working on it. It will be a sunroof 4sp lime green white interior when done. I put a factory sunroof out of a charger in it. I made all my own superbird parts out of metal in my garage myself. wing and nose and hood extention. I have bought the rear window plug and headlight doors fiberglass. anyone know how to make electric headlight doors work on one?  Can not wait to drive the wheels off it.

Once you've seen his challenger station wagon, you know this car's going to be over the top when it's finished. Every time I look at these pics, it makes me want to get my bird project on the rotisserie. Have to wait a couple of more weeks though.

Welcome to the best aero forum on the net Marty.

Marty took a 69 Charger body that would have otherwise been crushed and lost and put it on a 4x4 chassis. In my opinion, I would rather look at a 69 Charger bodied 4x4 than any other body. But then again, I love 69 Chargers a little more than some people and appreciate it when someone finds a way to save and use another one that would otherwise have been lost.
And, he's got an even wilder 4x4 planned for the future. It will be a first and personally I can't wait to see it finished. ;D

At the last Aero Warriors meet there were nine 500S out of about 150 cars.We are the first and the fewest.

And as I've stated before, I prefer the appearance of the 500 over the wing cars.  That's just me though.
Oh, and I think the argument could be made that the 66-67 Chargers were first.  The flush grille and fastback may have styling features but I think they were also casting an eye to how that would help their fortunes in Grand National racing.  And don't forget the spoiler appeared on the fastback first.  That's another topic though.  ;)

I remember seeing the wing cars for the first time when I was 14 years old and thinking that this had to be some kind of joke. Today we sort of take them for granted but back then they were considered to be extremely outlandish. While they helped ma mopar on the track, the wing cars did nothing for Chrysler's credibility as far as the public was concerned. Since Nascar didn't have the widespread following back then, much of the general public never really realized why these cars were built. While we had an asphalt track where Mark Martin, Dick Trickle and Rusty Wallace raced, we didn't see the Nascar racing that was going on. The only wing car sold locally sat on the lot for a long time before being sold and is still here locally. At the time, I think that the 500's would have been a much easier sell than anything with a wing. I also believe that if the 500's and the Daytonas were both built as a regular production car, the 500's would have outsold the Daytonas at least 10 to 1.
It's funny how people's reactions are so different today as compared to back then when they see one going down the road.

Welcome to the site, that would be the 2nd Superbird I"ve seen with a sunroof. The other is a legit Superbird, but I think it also has a sunroof from a Charger grafted onto it.

How did you graft the nose into the fenders? I like that look! I want to use it on my Daytona Clone sometime in the future. How did you do it? Body filler? If so what kind?
