The @ss end stuffed into the garage does not quite do it justice. I was trying to dodge the rain clouds getting it home and did not quite make it.

I finally start posting on this site and you guys are already asking me to pull my pants down! I'll just say it was north of 40 but south of 50.

It is more car than I was looking for, but did not cost much more than some similar finished cars (RT clones and/or non numbers) I have been looking at around the county. It popped up close enough that I could drive it home. Somebody decided they needed to fund a new Stingray.

It is an all original documented car that was a nicely optioned dealer demo. Only thing I am not crazy about are the hood pins. I don't mind the pins so much, just the cables look a bit sloppy. I didn't realize hood pins were a factory instal, I always thought they were aftermarket... Anyways, it's not a perfect car by any means. Has some little issues to keep me busy.

IMO,
Original is still the best, even with some small details/issues to keep you busy.
You didn't pay too much either.... it WILL hold value as a very solid investment being a documented original.

I thought that was quite possible the EXACT ballpark cost for your new baby. Worth ever dime IMO and it's a finished gorgeous car you can drive anytime you have gas money. 
Kudos to your wife for her support too. Little does she know how sore her face will be from all the smiling she'll be doing every time you're out cruising in it. The thumbs up, honks, shouted "nice car!" and waves she'll be returning will be intense and constant. My wife was blown away by the attention our cars draw.

I'm grinning like hell just looking at the pictures again. You got a great deal me thinks.

Those hood pins...my car's a driver so the lanyards' rubbing on the paint would leave behind scratches.  So I always twist them before inserting the pin so that the lanyard is looped up off the body. 
If you don't care for them that may make it worse seeings how the lany. will be sticking straight up sort of in your vision.  But it keeps them off your paint.

Right now I just have the cables laying inside the hood on the bumper gasket. The hood already has a 2 stage locking mechanism in addition to the pins anyways.

According to the build sheet, they were factory installs, but the hood still has the standard closing mechanism, which makes them mostly aesthetic - I think - unless I am missing something.

But yeah, that is not a bad idea of removing the lanyards and just using the clips.

That is a beautiful Charger and you will be in for some great times cruising around in it.  If it were mine, I would try to do something with the cables also as they will surely scratch the paint if you cruise much with them on there.

I actually had it out in MLT today. I would have been the only 2nd Charger in the Cascade Elite Gymnastics parking lot! I plan on putting some serious miles on it this summer. I will keep my eyes peeled too.

I know exactly where that is....... gonna be there again?
