I just bought my charger a little over a mouth ago and it needed more work than i was hoping on but i was able to make the engine compartment look better with a little paint, not done yet but looking a lot better it did when i got it . The engine its self is done for the most part ,what a difference a little paint can make. I know it is ford blue but i am not a fan of the lighter Chrysler color. Here is some before and after  shots.

BEFORE:

After:

1969 Charger  Orange /black top  (1989) 360 engine stock with added xtreme comp cam and a 4 bbl  , 904 trans/shift kit , 8-1/4 rear.. with general lee accents.

The correct turquoise engine paint is available from summit.  I have an original '68 and sprayed a sample on a spot on the valve cover, and couldn't find the spot later.

I chose the ford blue for the darker color to contrast the light color of the car and intake. I am not a fan of Chrysler blue anyway. I would have done the engine in orange but thought it would be to much orange on one place!

Just a FYI. A battery disconnect is a great idea but should be on the negative terminal to prevent sparking while connecting.

I like the lost old school hot rod guy, intimidating muscle car vibe...I drive it because I built it and I know its bad ass... the kind that makes a mans jaw drop and a women's panties wet when you drive by... the car that screams respect..... to be continued...
