Here's the latest from the Chrysler "Spy Vault".  :D

Rumor #1

This Plymouth Satellite Wagon was designed and built for "Brady Bunch" executive producer Sherwood Schwartz after Paramount/CBS contacted Chrysler Design studios to create a "Hipper, More Groovy" version of Carol's Satellite Wagon.....this was right after Mike Brady got his 1970 Barracuda convertible.  :coolgleamA:

It was used for one Brady Bunch episode (that never aired).  In this episode, Carol drops a huge amount of acid (found while snooping through Greg's attic bedroom). :blush2:

After hallucinating on the acid, she takes the family wagon to California Customizer Dean Jeffries to have it modified. :hack:  Unfortunately Bobby and Cindy spy on her, :girlfight: ...and the Superbird wing and nose is later removed :paintingpink: transforming the wagon back to "as new" condition before bringing it home to the family.

Rumor #2

This Plymouth Satellite Wagon "Superbird Concept" was actually built by Chrysler as an attempt to lure Richard Petty back from Ford.  It was built to compete in the "new for 1970" NASCAR Station Wagon Class - which was an early precursor to the Truck Series.   Petty told Chrysler he thought it was "gay as hell", and wouldn't sign with Plymouth until they made him a two-door version.   Next, Chrysler came up with the Superbird ...and the rest is history....  :yesnod:

Need more info./Research. I know there was a 4dr Superbird concept in late 68'.
I would need to speak with the janitor in building "51" in order to properly gauge.

Can't help but notice there no louvers on the top of the front fenders. :scratchchin:

Mopar4me

The rumor i heard was it was an engineering exercise, but no amount of wind tunnel testing could overcome the poor aerodynamics of the wagon. So they scrapped the wagon idea and went with the Road Runner hardtop instead.

How about pic's of Carol Brady naked.

I Googled "Florence Henderson Naked".... and sadly, she hasn't appeared in any nude films or photographs. :(

However I found an article in Marcia's (Maureen McCormicks) Brady bunch "tell-all" book, that Florence Henderson loved to go "streaking" at parties in the '70's and frequently flung off her top whenever she could!  :drool5:  Whatta cool chick!  :icon_smile_tongue:

I saw this picture and it reminded me of the Brady Superwagon....it's even from the same era!  Coincidence? ... I think not.  :smilielol:

It would be hilarious if ECS built it just to piss you off Tuffy!   :icon_smile_big:

This would have been way "groovier" for Miss Brady
1970 Daytona Charger SE "clone" (440/Auto)

Awesome!  Would that be considered the grandfather of the Magnum?

I think had Chrysler really made this car...surly the wood grain would've had to run up over the wing?!!  :scratchchin:
'73 Cuda 340 5spd RMS
'69 Charger 383 "Luci"
'08 CRF 450r
'12.5 450SX FE

Homerr

For a wagon the 2 door Charger concept model there looks pretty cool.  Except that the tail panel would have to get screwed up to access the cargo area.

Ghoste

Instead of woodgrain maybe they need a really long dustrail on there.

Neal_J

I think the fake woodgrain should extend up and over the wing...

Peace, Neal
