How can I test an A/C blower switch?

69 Charger.  I have the switch out of the car, it has three wires and an elbow lever that goes in three positions.  How convenient!    :icon_smile_big:

I tried finding continuity between the elbow and one of the wires but that was way too optimistic.  Before I go through all the trouble to install the switch, is there a way to make sure it will work?
