Anyone here know a good trick to get tire rubber off paint with harming the paint?

Cooter

Wax before insane activities such as burnouts, or have magnets made up that are same color as car you stick on before insane activities such as burnouts.

Otherwise, that scalding hot rubber melts into the surface of the clearcoat and will leave a microscopic level of damage.

Tar remover should take it off.

Try some wax and grease remover or some mineral spirits.

I used to use Burnout Guard on the Charger when I used to bracket race. Worked pretty good. The rubber pretty much just hosed off. You can also get sheets of magnetic material from a sign maker and cut shapes to fit behind the rear tires for when you race. Then just pull off the magnetic sheets when you're done at the track.

I've also heard of people smearing vaseline on that area before burnouts as well but I've never seen it done, nor have I tried it so I don't know how well it works and I imagine it isn't fun to clean off.

A buddy of mine has some clear decal sheet he placed on his lower quarters. Similar to the stuff found on newer cars.

I had helped do the body work on it. When we got to my house Allen let me drive it around the block. Asked him could I light the hides, he said sure.  :shruggy:

Well I lite them up and he got  :RantExplode: that I did?  :scratchchin:

He has seen this picture so he should know I was not kidding!  :D

We used a fine rubbing compound, tar remover and  to clean it up.  :D

The Vaseline trick Ghoste mentioned works quite well. The rubber wipes right off.  This all has to be premeditated, of course. Doesn't help with spontaneous activities.
