I recently put a Holley 750 with a 1" spacer on my 440. I bought the holley bracket and stud kit to hook up the throttle cable. The OD of the stud was a little big so I turned it down and drilled a new hole. I don't like the angle of the cable from the cable bracket the the carb. Will the angle cause problems? Do I need to space the bracket up? Do I need to modify the carb linkage?

It must be a 4 speed car. The angle is ok. Why the spacer ?

It is a four speed.
The spacer is to make space for the accelerator pump linkage and to insulate the carb from heat. I'm thinking maybe I should swap to a 1/2" thick spacer.
I was also thinking that a 440 six barrel throttle cable might work better. I believe it is longer because of the height of the six pack manifold.

I didn't like the angle of the cable with the RPM manifold and 1/2" spacer so I made up a bracket to sit on the original to hold the cable.

John, the cable angle is fine....as long as the venturies open fully with the pedal all the way to the floor, you're good to go  ;)
