I have a 318 and 2 of my wires run almost on the header pipe, so what i did was to buy a set of taylor wires (they have a shorter boot) and than i bought the fiberglass heat sleeves to go with them to protect it from the header and so far it has worked.  I can post a picture you you like.

A set of wire seperators really help to keep the header tubes away from the ignition wires. I like these ones and recomend 2 sets because one won't be enough.  ;)
