The one I just installed was less than 13k to my door 472 mopar perf. Built by Stanton racing. Still had to add carb( I left this on a 4 bbl) an air cleaner and exhaust. A friend and I did some research and found that the Stanton builds are top notch for the parts allowed by mopar. Runs pretty sweet too.  I'm pretty sure that's part number from the frost post is what mine was.... Going to check now.


Edit that number is for a 426. For what it's worth I'm told those are good engines now to due too much better builders. I prices one of those 426 mp crate frame our local dealer and I can get one for 14.5 k

Sounds very interesting.

To be clear, Are the Stanton engines the ones that are currently available from the local Chrysler dealer ?

Is there a way to determine that is what you are getting vs, the older MP crate engines ?


I've been saving up for a long time, and would like to make this happen soon.

FHO is the place to go.

I recently had a lengthy discussion with Tim at FHO, concerning the possibility of him building an engine for my car.

He took a lot of time out of his day to explain to me every detail of the engine he could build for me.

He's a very knowledgeable and helpful person.

Great guy.

I told him I didn't need a huge race engine, just a "cruiser" type engine.

He explained to me that if you're buying all new parts, that it doesn't cost a lot more to go with the larger displacement, which makes for  better drive ability on the street, and as a bonus...big horsepower.

He also said that there are no iron blocks currently available, and that an alloy block would have to be used.

This would raise the price about $3000.

And, then while you're at it, you may as well go with a roller cam, etc...etc...etc...

The combination he proposed should make somewhere north of 750 HP on pump gas, the car would

handle better because it will weigh about the same as an iron small block...etc...etc...etc...


OK...

Sounds TERRIFIC ! ! !

FYI iron blocks are available from HP performance LLC.   I have read some good things about them and plan to use their aluminum block on my 572 build.  Would love to have Tim build it for me but the cost just doesn't add up.
