I sold my '71 'Cuda for $3000 15 years ago.

It was a rusted to death piece of crap.

If this car is all there and not too rusty, buy it. ;)

To be honest I can't stand 71 Cudas and the following they have. However, having said that, that sounds like a winning deal.

No factory 318 cudas in 71. Its either a barracuda or a cuda with a 318. Either way price sounds fair.

100 percent correct.  "Cuda's" were the Muscle/Performance cars. Barracuda's were the no power, grandma cars.

Let me try again,resized.

1972 is not the subject here though. :scratchchin:

Whether a factory Cuda or barracuda, at 6k if its solid & factory fc7 you would do well to buy it.
Being a factory stick car is even better.

That's exactly what I was thinking....

I did write "1972 though ". :brickwall: Posting it to show that there were "318" Cudas made for those who never knew there were.

I sold this car just a few years ago for $8000. It was not running, needed a trunk floor & some outer sheet metal work but the floors, frame rails, firewall, cowl & roof were all solid. Originally a 383-2V car with a later 400-4V, bench seat, auto on the column. If you can get one for $6000 & it's not rotted to where it needs everything, that's a good price.

Agreed. 71 Cudas have always looked like the design team couldn't really decide what to do with the next year update, so they threw ideas from the JC Whitless catalog at them to try and dress them up. The sales from that year tend to reflect that fact and it is only the combination of rarity, because sales sucked, and the final year of big block performance that has conspired to make so many people gaa-gaa over them. However, because they are a one year only deal, many guys are willing to give their left gonad to get them and that makes their parts all the more valuable.

Unless its rusted up to its door handles or is missing all its year specific trim pieces, it sounds like a good deal, even if it is only a 318 3 spd Barracuda.

Mike DC

Yeah, I think so too.  That '71 front grille, and those fender gills . . .  we would be calling it an amateur butcher-job if it was coming from a backyard customizer.

In '72 though the 318 was available in both Cuda & Barracuda. In '71 it was only available in the Barracuda. 'Cudas were the performance model.

There was an FC7/white '70 convertible at the local cruise-in the other night. Powered by a slant-6. VERY nicely done, there was a crowd around it all night.  :yesnod:

I also agree that if everything is there, that is a good price as well.

Yea, I said that already.
