1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee. 383 automatic on column with A/C.
Oil, fuel, temp gauges; horn, key buzzer and radio not working.
Grounded oil and temp wires and the gauges went up. Grounded the fuel wire and nothing. Replaced with new, the oil and temp gauges sending units and still nothing. The horn relay is not clicking when the steering wheel is pushed down. Checked all fuses and they are OK. Could it be the horn relay causing all of the problems? Any ideas??
Thanks,
Al in Maine

How about the voltage regulator on the panel?

dillon14

Where is it located??? Are there other things that would not work if it was the voltage regulator? Lights and blinkers work.

It should be located on the back of the instrument cluster.  Its a small metal can that plugs in.

I have a metal canister at the top of the fuse box that has 4 prongs. I was told that was the horn relay. Wrong???
Thanks

Smaller than that and should be on the back of the cluster.

Radio not working,.. did you get turning lights ? both are sourced from same wiring

cluster problems... on a first view seems you got oil and temp senders damaged, and fuel gauge burnt

BUT being deeper... fuel gauge studs on back of cluster are both wired ?

Voltage limiter for gauges on 3rd gen Rally clusters is this piece screwed on back, close to the gauges studs:

( but attaching bracket got a prong to a ground reinforcement wire with a wider plug than regular plugs coming from harness )

You'll find a small pigtail harness, black wire, with 90º bullet terminals arriving to, which feeds all gauges ( one stud each )
