Ghoste

That's awesome, a lot of the rusted parts are gone to save you the time and hassle of cutting them off.

Kern Dog

The seller is trying to be honest about the condition of the car. That is  nice to see.

not sure if I see $2,500 worth of usable parts though....  :shruggy:

My thoughts exactly. The seller is trying to be honest. "It's bad."

I dont see that one going any further than the scrap yard.

Actually a bit sad that it isnt a #'s matching Hemi 4-speed super trac-pack car because then people would be all over it to save it.

For that asking price you can buy alot of nice repop parts for a restoration

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

You mean to save the fender tag and VIN to put on a better body.  :icon_smile_wink:

Don't worry...It will be at next year's Barrett-Jackson Auction bringing big dollars as a survivor...(well sort of....)   :icon_smile_wink:

The seller would do better to start the bidding at $1.  It'd have to be at least an R/T to even consider $2500, and that's a push.

Funny, even a Hemi car in this shape most likely would be missing all the key components, and take just as much money to restore and bring way less. Agreed, the price is a little one the high side, but remember, the good lord ain't making no more clean titles and VIN tags for these cars.

These cars are getting near 50 years old.  This is what cars NORMALLY look like at this age.

The old car hobby in general should be buying a lot more reproduction unibodies and less of these hulks.

That's the worst one I've seen in a while.  I went to look at a '68 in Tampa a couple of years ago and it looked decent from the outside, but once you looked at the inside it was a total goner like this one.   It was a silver '68 R/T car at least - and the guy wanted $2500 for essentially the VIN.    Had a perfect grille and a tic-toc tach so I'd say with that color combo it could have been worth it to someone in parts - but this thing will wind up melted down and the steel will be used in a nice fork an knife set for someone :)

The guy looks at me and says 'It could be brought back' and I just laughed and told him if he ever did it he should call it Lazarus because it would take a genuine miracle to get rid of all that body rot.

At least this seller didn't put the word 'rat rod' in the ad.  It's annoying that people think they can sell a complete POS only worth scrap price and if they say 'rat rod' the car is suddenly worth 5K.

I guess a positive on this one is that it is only a 318....

Homerr

Shall we compare what the similar condition '68 R/T goes for?

QuoteI have for sale a true R/T car NOT A CLONE!  A factory A/C 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 7.2L 440 HP car. What you see is what you get ,except, not pictured, but goes along with car, is The back seat springs are not pictured but go with car. As stated it is only the back seat springs top and bottom complete just need foam and recovered. Also not pictured is a 1968 Charger Flip Top Gas Cap. The 68 is different than the 69 model. No trim ring just period correct gas cap only. Plus the original headlight wireing harness from the bulkhead to the lights is also included but not pictured. This is a 3- speed wiper motor option also. And is a power steering car as well. Car is being sold for parts as it needs total restoration and is a project car. Im not sure how rare the R/T cars that were green in color and with a green vinyl top. Most of the green Chargers you would think would have been small block cars such as 318. So that maybe a rare option, not sure. Car still has some of the seat belts still in the car. I will have to check but i may have some extra small odds and end parts to go along with car. The front valence panel is painted orange, but is the original green panel that came with car. I painted it orange some time ago and put it on my other Charger. Both headlight actuators / vacuum pods are still with the grill.  Car does not have trans or motor. Also not in the picture is the battery tray which is their also.  The bumper is straight and in good condition and can be used as a daily driver or re-chromed if you shall choose to do so. Also has the original horns. I also have one maybe two front valence panel turn signal houseings. Will have to check to make sure. May also have some dash cluster pieces not sure as to what or if anything is left. As seen in the pics car is already loaded up on trailer just need you to bring your trailer or roll back and back up to car and move from my trailer onto yours. If you know anything about 68 Chargers and im sure you do, then you know how hard it is to find a 1968 model, Especialy a R/T. If you have no intentions on paying, please do not bid. I hate to sell the car as i was needing it for parts but now have to sell. This would be a good car to start with if you are building a General Lee. Anyone out of the US do not bid as car does not leave the states, Thank you. Car is for sale locally. If car does not sell then im most likely going to cut it up for parts that I need for my 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.
