Hi everybody I have a 69 charger and I will be buying tires soon and i am torn between 2 different sizes that i keep going back and forth on them, they are 235/70/15 and 245/60/15 if you have either i would like to see photos of your car to see what it looks like. Any photos you can post would be greatly appreciated thanks!

If these will be on all four corners of your car go with the 245's. They will look better and fill the wheel wells more.
I have 235's in the front, they look OK but are a bit skinny.

These are 235/60/15 on front and 295/50/15 rear. 7 inch rim up front and 8.5 in rear.

I went around and around on rims and tires myself, was going to go the smaller size your looking at but landed on these.

comet_666

Better shot, kind of.

comet_666

And a rear shot.

Much depends on the stance you're after.  Level, rear up in the air?  Look at the tire heights.  http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/HeightofTires.htm

I have 245/45/17 on the front and 275/50 on the back to give me the stance I want.  Compare those heights to the tires you are considering to get a better idea.

235/70/15 is 28" tall which is a bit taller than my rear tire.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

OK after doing loads of research and surfing the web and seeing pictures, Im thinking 235/60/15 in front and 255/60/15 rear. I have to keep in mind that i have a 318 in my charger to.

255's are pushing it on a 7" rim in my opinion. While they will mount fine, they will be pulling the sidewalls in, thus reducing their cornering ability. The 235's will fit nicely on a 7" rim. Fwiw, i run 245/60 on the front with 8.5" rims and 275/60 in the rear on 8.5" rims.

keith88

Ended up ordering 235/60/15 for the front and 255/60/15 for the rear And that is the biggest tire that the manufacture says will fit on a 15x7 rim , should have them for Sat.

i put 275/60 on my back rims (american racing vectors) and they are 5x7's. thought they where 5x8, but i checked the other day. is that bad?

The factory says nothing bigger than 255 on a 7" rim that is why i stopped at that size. Not sure what can happen if it bigger but im guessing its not good.

The sidewalls will be pulled in, reducing strength and cornering ability. It will also pull the outer edges of the tread in. I doubt it will cause any nkticable problems for you.

charge69

Great looking '69 and a good choice in tire size. You should have no problems with rubbing in cornering or otherwise with them. :2thumbs:

In case you are wondering, my Charger has 225/70/15 fronts and 275/60/15 rear tires installed with absolutely no problems. Both are almost the same diameter and look "right" on it.

xoman60

Nice cars Charge69 and Keith88. I think mine has the same size as yours charge69. My fronts might be 235 though. I can t remember.
