If you could go back in time to when your car was being drawn up, what one, (1), thing would you change about your car?

I have a 65' Coronet 500. I would add hideaway head lights. The straight Coronet and Coronet 440's could stay as they are, but, the 500's should get the full treatment. They are decked out in the interior and the rear deck. Why not the nose?? That is what you see first....

I would make a ram air setup available.

Honestly there is not a dang thing I would change about my '68. I might however have had them stamp the VIN on the fender tag, rad. support, engine, trans, rearend, etc. I hate these serial numbers because I don't have the buildsheet...

At the top of the rear window, it's almost straight verticle, and doesn't quite look right.  I'd have smoothed that out, but other than that, I wouldn't change a thing.

1. Better quality steel and rainwater drainage
2. Disc brakes only and larger rotors
3. Better cooling/high capacity radiators/bigger shroud and fan
4. Electric headlight cover motor like later models rather than vaccuum
5. Bigger stock wheels and tires
6. Better setup for build sheet info rather than a piece of paper in the seat springs

I would change nothing about the way it looks, inside or out. There's no way anyone could improve on that IMO.

squeakfinder

Definitely bigger tires and wheels.

All the hidden metal surface's should have have been painted with
some sort of rust inhibitor type paint.

Maybe a full frame or frame connector's.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

Damn,, maybe I should have asked what the MOST MAJOR THING IS THAT YOU WOULD HAVE CHANGED.....

Well, they claimed it in 1970. I don't know how much faith I put in it though.

Oh, and I would take a 4spd and AM/FM radio.  :icon_smile_wink:

Maybe he wouldn't change a thing... But I would have designed his car with quarter panels... ;)

As for my own car, I am working on fixing all the stuff the factory did that just doesn't suit me. And that is quite a bit...

i think i would have to say better seats and a better place for the gas filler neck (i hate having it behind the license plate on my 72)

bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,

I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Brock Samson

I'd have the fuel filler tube crooked so it wouldn't take up so much area and a thicker dutchman panel at the base of the rear window with some actual drainage...
And as far as my actual car myself, i would'a had it ordered with tan interior to match the original tan top... Power windows and Front Discs..
and i would'a ordered it the Dark Blue Paint color...

Charger Aficionado

Sounds like my R/T SE's options, except the B7 Ext color...  I wonder how that'd look Tan interior B7 Exterior, white top/stripe...  LOUD!!!

I would have written off the EPA and CARB standards and said F you!  I want a smog creating 426 Hemi in the 1973 model year, with a ramcharger hood, front and rear spoiler, hidden headlights and two tone interior!

I'd give the car some decent rustproofing.

Headrope

I've always liked Mopars because they were a little rougher than the other makes. Chevy and Ford optioned the hell out of their cars while Mopar pretty much stayed foccused on raw power.
That's why I like my '66: it's a big, bad, brute of a machine.
I'd change nothing.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

tan top

IF i desiged the second genaration charger  these are the changes i would of made -
(1) galvernised body inside & out
(2) wax protection inside frame rails /rockers / a-posts / doors / etc ,
(3) big 4 wheel disc brakes.
(4) bigger wheels and tires.
(5) better front end suspension gemontry
(6) more precise steering (power-rack & pinion)  :scratchchin:
(7) the way the stainless & crome trim are fixed to the body/ change it to spot welded on mushroom lugs & plastic clips,( i for get the propper name /no more holes to leak water in to the trunk etc.
(8) HEMI chassis renforcement parts on all models, & chassis connectors.
(9) air grabber hood
(10) propper documented records, production numbers of each model( placed in a FIRE proof safe at the  chrysler records building ;D with at least 3  copys of correct broadcast sheet in each car, witch includes the  C500/DAYTONA's
