Well...    long road guys - been off of here for almost 9 months....       IF any of you missed me here is the 'what I've been up to thread'

When I joined the old board I didn't even own a Charger....

Through that time I managed a mopar shop, worked at a couple other shops, AutoZone, was a contractor at the US Army, Went to college and earned my B.A., and finally got a good job with the City of Los Angeles.

In short...     gave that up to follow my dream - Wear a uniform for my country.

Lost 156lbs over a year to make weight and join. Elected to go into the USAF simply because people said I wouldn't make the cut. Well - here I am now ----  Airman 1st Class, 27 years old, and Stationed in Maryland at Andrews AFB.

Honor Graduate at Basic Military Training
AETC Commander's Award in Technical School
Expert Marksman (M9 / M4)

So - Any of you East Coasters close to Washington DC ever feel like dropping me a line - I am around for a minute (currently have OCS packets in to the Army and Navy, Also a WO packet for the Army)

Here's a before pick from "back in the day"

Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Congratulations on your determination to realize your dream and accomplish it!  Being a little older guy in boot camp probably gave you a little different outlook on the situation and reaffirmed your determination to be the best soldier you could be!

I know it doesn't really mean much to you but I, and many others, am proud of you and your accomplishments!

All of the above and then some.  Now let's get down to business.  What Mopar machine are you planning for?

Back N Black

Congrats! I was one of the older guys when i did recruit school. :2thumbs: Do you still have your 68 Charger?

Rolling_Thunder

Still got the 1968 ===  it's back in southern CA - almost done with it - pending a cooling problem

Still have my '13 Challenger R/T as well

While out here I'm not looking for too much - the auto hobby shop on base is closed because of budget reasons (a joke when you consider how much $$$ this base sucks up) so no place to really work on it even if I had a project.

I am currently filling out a commissioning packet for the US Army as well as a Warrant Officer flight packet. The USAF is not currently accepting commissioning packets so I am forced to apply to other branches - no bother. I figure may as well keep pressing

Thank you all for your support on here. Please remember that many more than I have sacrificed ultimately for this country - remember that this weekend and thank you to everyone else who has served and continue to serve.   :2thumbs:

Best of luck getting accepted!  If you do get the opportunity to fly helos for the Army, I'm sure you'll love it.  I'm training in the TH-57 for the Marine Corps right now, and flying is a blast.  The rest of flight school...I wouldn't describe the same.  Non-stop work.  Worth it though.

Oh, and congrats on realizing your goals.

Good on you bud for sticking to your goals, pleased for you for graduating,  the huge weight loss is the thing you will probably appreciate the most.
I'm a civilian contractor at a Navy base working on all types of ships and I respect and enjoy working with the people in uniform doing their thing to make it better all round.

Have a cold one on me.
