About an ex-girlfriend and a '66 Charger

Ok this will be a bit long so bare with me. About 15 years ago I was dating this girl who looking back on it was maybe a bit crazy. Anyway during this relationship I was driving and wrenching on a Mustang all the time. She calls me one day and says she found an old classic car she thought she wanted to buy and have her dad fix up for her. She then tells me it's a Dodge Charger but isn't sure of the exact year. Well I get off work that day and we head out in the boonies where the car is located. I was hoping for a '68-'70 car and was disappointed because it wasn't a second generation Charger and at the time I wasn't that interested in the first generation cars. It had no drive train and very little interior. Just a rolling shell, which I tried to convince her was a huge project and she would be getting in over her head, so after I told her that she of course bought it anyway. For 500 bucks she got the charger and a 70's Monaco that the guy threw in as a donor car.  So I go winch this thing up on a trailer and turns out he had boxes and boxes of interior and trim parts in his house so we got that as well.

Well we haul this thing to her dad's property and unload it, where it sets and sets and sets, because it had no title and when she called the DMV here they told her it was useless without one. So time marches on and we go our separate ways, both of us marry other people have kids ect. But I have always wondered what happened to that car, I don't remember it as being terribly rusty. I am wondering if I would be worth contacting her to find out about the car???  We haven't spoken in 11 years at least. How awkward or in appropriate would it be to show up and be like hey remember that car I helped you haul out of the weeds back when we used to look at each other naked?

I have to figure out how to bring the idea up to my wife LOL  :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

Going for the car not the girl.  Hopefully she trusts you more than that by now.

That's what that thing called Facebook is good for... :Twocents:

IMO it's not worth the risk of getting stabbed in the face by this "crazy" woman you speak of, although as far as I'm concerned they're all crazy to some degree.  There're plenty of Chargers out there; the right one will come along with the kind of risks that won't threaten your life or your marriage...

If you are interested in the car though, make sure your wife knows right from the start.   Don't even make a pretense of doing it without her knowledge or she will be much more inclined to think you are up to no good.

Never lie to a woman; their b.s. meter is almost as keen as one of their five senses...

I'm not really interested in the car for myself, but if I could get it for what she has in it I am sure it would make someone a nice project or if nothing else provide some parts. I actually couldn't find her on FB, but a friend of mines wife is related to her I may have him inquire for me.

That is the best way of all, a third party.  Still tell Mrs. Prison, she'll love you for the profit motive.

That's what I'm thinking, as far who dumped who well. She cheated, I punched the guy, she smashed a very nice model I had built and painted to look like the Mustang I was driving at the time. Yes it could have been a Springer episode LOL.

Sh*t, who we kidding? That car has been sold and flipped so many times by now it ain't funny.
FIRST thing women do is get rid of all reminders of previous relationships. Exercise in futility.

You could be right, more than likely crushed for scrap, but I think it's worth checking on. Oh and I'm only in prison 10 hours a day 4 days a week.

Bring your wife along and tell her you're going to look at a huge vintage solid steel flower planter and some boxes of chrome garden tools.
