Exhaust Gaskets

Anyone ever had an issue with burning up exhaust gaskets? They were bad when I bought the car, went after I put the engine in, went again after I put the mufflers and extensions on and now they are gone again.  Actually drivers side.
Tom at Accurate suggested taking a good look at the flange and being positive it is absolutely flat. But also mentioned the manifold is getting too hot. I know the timing is not perfect yet but would that make the manifolds get too hot?
OEM HP manifolds for 400, I checked the numbers with Tom. 2 1/4 inch head pipes to Dynomax Super Turbo, then to tail.
If anyone has had this issue, what did you do to resolve it?   :popcrn:

With the age, I would have the exhaust manifold checked to make sure it is straight. I am guess a machine shop should be able to plane it.  :scratchchin: I think there are some gaskets with cooper O rings but not going to swear to it. Never been a problem for myself.

Where exactly is it leaking?  I had a recurring exhaust leak at the flange and kept going through collector donuts until I had the flange replaced.

Yes, flange. That is what Tom referred to. Warped or an uneven edge. Sounds like that is the next little "issue" to deal with. As I've said before, its always something. :brickwall:
