Pinion nut

So a couple weeks ago I receive this Chrysler recall notice regarding the pinion nut
coming loose on my '09 Ram. I though I could take the truck in at my leisure. This past weekend
I heard sounds that I clearly remember from my back in the day four wheeling woes.

I took the truck in Tuesday for the fix and also a lumbar support repair. Short story is they
had to overnight the recall parts, the power lumbar support assembly and keep the
truck overnight. The recall turned out to be a complete new ring and pinion gear install. Anyway,
I says to the service guy that I had a "must go to VA" appointment today and needed my wheels.

The dealership is Lithia Dodge. They provided me with a rental car at no charge and shuttled
me to and from Fire Base Twodko to get it. I returned the rental today, they picked me up at Enterprise
and brought me back to the dealership to get my truck.

I had just climbed in the cab and closed the door when the service rep and service manager,
an older guy my age, walk up to my door. Guy says to me, "Welcome home bro" and they go about their
business. 40+ years later one old vet to another. A very good day all around. Thought I'd share this with you.

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Good looking out.  I wish my local dealership was anywhere near that great.

Vietnam vets didn't get a proper welcome home. But it's never too late.

Last week at the Dodge dealer where we hold our club meeting, a salesmen was talking with myself and Reggie. Reggie is a Vietnam era vet, turns out the salesman was too. I had my opportunity, I made sure I thanked him for serving. It is never too late.

Even if it's just to each other.

It's beyond wonderful to see how our people are being welcomed
home nowadays. Better late than never.
