I have a 17 year who has been obsessed with Basketball since he was a just a little guy.  He has played a high level of Basketball since he was 6 and is now getting quite a few scholarship offers from some pretty prestigious Schools.  Even at 6'1" he looks short compared to some of the guys he plays against. (lol)  Anyone else have any experience (good or bad) with their Kids being offered Athletic Scholarships?  Below is a recent video from a couple of his AAU games.

Both my daughters (twins) were real good soccer players.  They and us were courted by several colleges and we eventually made a decision. If you play the cards right you can get them to anti up some more if he is really good. Granted girls soccer isn't or wasn't back then one of the major sports attractions and school revenue generators so the money wasn't huge but it saved us about 20K in tuition costs and when combined with the academic scholarships it was a huge financial help.  The school and coach made sure the grades and studies were a priority first and worked with the team on road trips for make up classes.  Had no problems at all for us.

That's really exciting to hear!  It sounds like you had twice the fun! :2thumbs:  Below was last months highlights where there were quite a few Scouts checking out the AAU Events.

Thanks!  He's getting offers from many different Colleges at this point.  His Senior year should be fun to watch.  Here is a clip from this past weekend.

My son got a scholarship and wrestled for the University of Nebraska.  They changed coaches and he transfered to Northern Illinois.  It took him an extra year to earn his degree.  Make sure his choice is the final choice!

That's awesome!  I bet you are very proud of him.  :2thumbs:  Wrestling is one my Favorite Sports and extremely difficult.  You have to be mentally and physically strong to compete.  Best wishes for your Son and his Collegiate Career.  :2thumbs:

That is great that he has continued with his passion and is successful.  Thanks again for your input and thoughts!
