Thought id post a few pics of the wifeys Charger i just finished painting, still needs cut and buffed and all the stripes installed, spent way too much time on this thing but I think I have around $2000 in total now after the insurance company wrote me a check for the hail damage. She likes it and I guess that's all that is important (Happy wife, Happy life!!)

Just 6T9 CHGR

Nice tail light treatment!  I had the same done on my Daytona.  I think it finishes off the rear nicely
Chris' '69 Charger R/T

Just 6T9, Yeah she wanted the tail lights smoked and the more I looked at it I thought man this would look good painted all the way to the back. Instead of the Mitsubishi Galant looking tail light just squared off on the quarter panel.

Your too kind Steve!!  :icon_smile_big: I spent several hours painting this dang thing believe I had 7 coats of base on it (I hate spraying metallic!)

Not sure I "get" the Coronet reference....

Red 70 R/T 493, Alot of people complain that they should not be called a Charger and call the them Coronets since they are 4 doors!  :icon_smile_big:

While the newer 4 door body is a good looking car it should not be called a Charger! Now Coronet that I could agree with with a smile!  :2thumbs:

If Plymouth had made a 4 door Barracuda I could deal with that, now if they called it a 4 door Cuda!  :RantExplode:

Cuda Ken
I am back

I thought mopar had lost their mind when they made a 4 door charger, but I ended up buying a 2012 brand new, and I love it! I used to say the same thing....nice cars, but a "Charger"??? But now that I have had it a couple years...yeah...a charger, and a real pleasure to drive also! Perfect for an old guy like me! I have just as much HP as I had in my 1969 Mach One with 351C, but I get 3 times the gas mileage, and it takes me where I want to go without wrenching it along the way! And I have a sporty car with the comfort of 4 doors...not a bad idea after all, but...hey...why couldn't mopar make this car a 2 door and make it that much more deserving of the name? I still have (2) 3rd Gen Chargers, one has a 440, the other has a 318 4V, and when I get one done....well....nothin' like the classics! I only have 12K miles on my 2012, and I want to add some stripes, and eventually make it old school...raised white letter tires, some nice exhaust, and make it more like a charger should be! BTW your Wife has a great lookin' CHARGER and you did a nice job on it!

Indygenerallee

chargers_r_us Thanks! I have to admit they are nice cars. hers has 110,000 miles and we have owned it since 50,000 miles and I have not had to touch it (other than PM and a couple tie rod ends) Great cars after we sell this one I would like to get her a newer R/T I like that the cars are very roomy (I am 6'8 and it has tons of room when I have to drive it) I think they are good looking cars granted some folks get their panties in a knot over Dodge naming it the Charger but that's all it is a name all us original Charger owners know it's not a 66-74 Charger so I don't get upset over it. Great cars though!

I Would like to say the new 06-present Charger owners like to think that the only Chargers ever made were 4 doors  :rotz: Keep them bitches in check!!  :smilielol:  66-74 FTW!!!!!

Whatever its called, it outsells the 66-74 2 door.    :shruggy:

Nice job on the repaint!   :2thumbs:

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Ghoste

As I've said before though, that isn't a fair comparison.  Since the current version is the ONLY midsize offering from Dodge and the largest, you would have to compare its sales to ALL of the 2 and 4 door B-body and C-body vehicles available from Dodge (and Plymouth really) from back in that time.

odcics2

Good point!

The entire market has aged.   Look how many 2 dr cars are made by all other companies.  Times have changed.
