Most of the stuff I'm finding on the market are cone type or ratchet type lockers.  Can someone point me to a link that has a good clutch type sure grip?  It's for a 8.75 rear.  I don't know why I'm having a hard time finding them.

Contact Dr. Diff, that is where I got mine.

He is out of stock for clutch type.  Are these Eaton Trutracs that bad for turning?  I heard they can feel "jerky".

Trutrac is the best of both worlds. Had one in a truck. Super smooth turning but with brake modulation you cojld get it to fully lock and have one tire off the ground and the other still driving. Military hmmwv's have been running them for years.

try the cone type then move up to a Detroit locker If you don't like it etc...work with what you have.

I heard they can stick in turns causing you to lose traction.  Is that not the case with these?  You couldn't feel anything in the turns?

Haven't really driven anything else but I really like my TruTrac. Performs like an open diff when not needed and does an excellent job when you mash the pedal ;) No need to run a special lube and does not wear out like a cone or clutch SG.

The more torque you apply, the more it grips so if you are going into a turn under hard throttle, its going to act like a suregrip and you can slide the rear out under command. under normal circumstances you cant tell its in there and acts like an open diff. It is an incredible design.

I'm beginning to be sold on the idea...

It's what I'll be using with the 6 speed, but that's a long ways away.

Mine has been nothing but smooth.  For just driving around, it acts like an open differential

I am running the Auburn unit purchased from Dr. Diff.  Third season so far & no troubles.  I had his aftermarket clutch type prior to this & had nothing but trouble with the spider gears.  They snapped on me 4x.  Cass repaired the unit free of charge each time but it was getting tiring for me.  He graciously refunded me my full purchase price of the unit (over 4 years old) and applied it to a new Auburn unit.  :Twocents:
